The Left's strategy in the 2008 election has not changed since 2002:

Hate Bush by hating everything that can be blamed on Bush

Hate War because it is the only opponent strategy when "no" is the word Demcrats use for whatever the Bush administration wants. 

Accuse Republicans of a culture of corruption when it is apparent that charge applies more appropriately to Democrats (a la Klingons).

Accuse "famous" conservative gurus like Rush Limbaugh of failing to support our troops in Iraq ("phony soldier" spit-up) to balance legitimate GOP accusation that Democrat Party and its leadership lust for American defeat in Iraq and promote "anti-Americanism" whenever they can.

This is all part of the "big lie" strategy every demogogue knows to promote, from Hitler to Stalin to the American left, headquarters of the johns Kerry and Edward and the queen, Hillary, with her squirrelly jester Bill.
